barn again

Another barn? Yup. I like them. And I can’t wait for the fresh produce stand they’ll have out by the road very soon now.

incy wincy spider climbed…

I was firing up the grill tonight when I spotted this guy near the gutters. The sun was down so I knew I needed a tripod. The flash was just too much (ain’t posting the misfires…) and I got this using a long exposure combined with a little light coming from behind the camera. He never moved, and there was no wind, else I’d’a not gotten him.

The biggest struggle was getting the focus right. I finally went in the house, got a flashlight, and held it on him while I focused – had to be manual as the auto was going everywhere.

again

I’m still learning with these barn photos. So many possibilities with light around the structure, open field – am thinking perhaps a night photo might be fun here too.

sundown

When the lights turn on, it’s time to go. One last shot, hurried a bit, using a post for support….

connect

In our digital lab we just can’t have enough ways to connect equipment. 1/4″, 1/8″, XLR, USB, Firewire, S/PDIF, gigabit cat-5e, Firewire 800, SCSI in all the flavors…. and of course the proprietary cables too. Keeping up with the daggum cables is a part-time job, so we finally built a pegboard wall and have hung them all, by category.

A labyrinth down the trail.

upkeep

Road crews finally spraying to keep the dust from the road under control. Ride with the windows up and suffocate, or roll them down and wear a bandanna over your face to help keep the dust out. The water trucks on these roads are a more welcome sight than even the snowplows of Michigan‘s winter.

revisit

Now that I know this barn is here I want to keep playing.

abandoned

Found, about 200yds off the road near Williamston, MI. I can’t count the number of times I’ve driven past this barn without seeing it, but the sun across it tonight coming home from golf caught my eye. The sun was nearly down for the day as I drove up a narrow, overgrown kinda-road to get back there to take some shots. I had to shoot at 800ISO while holding very still.
