golf

The driveway nearly melted itself clean today – wait, is it almost the end of February yet? March is always a tease… some warm days, some frigid. But I can smell golf season around the corner. Just a few weeks now!

I’ve never had a hole-in-one. But my grandfather? He had several, and I got one of his trophies after he passed. I still miss him.

walk

Long day here and I didn’t get out to shoot – again. Tomorrow, right?

So tonight it’s one from the archives. I got this shot a few years back while in Brisbane, Australia for a conference. I took this along a park by the river in Brisbane – and to give a little perspective, I could easily walk beneath the branch in the center of the shot. Such an amazing forest.

Dang ring

My undergrad days were a bit different – and back then, I needed some of that. But not all.

Either way, I ended up with this school ring. I wear it some days, others I forget or I just don’t feel like it. But I saw it next to my house keys this morning and put it on. The problem is, it’s too dang heavy to type with. I spend my days at a keyboard, and it just weighs too much to have on my hand while typing. Hence, this is my ring’s normal place while working, right next to the laptop. It’s a wonder I’ve not lost it somewhere….

Didn’t get out with the camera today – but here’s a blast from the past

Red

Something about red and blue – I’ve always loved both colors, and my eye is drawn to them. I even painted my kitchen red, which I later learned (think McDonald’s) makes us hungry.

I caught sight of this lone holly bush out on the trail through one of the parks here and wondered how it got there. I’ll never know, but the berries were beautiful against the snow.

Farm

I just didn’t have time today to get a picture in anywhere… rushing from home to work to all that. So here’s one from the past. From where I still think of as home, back at the farm, comes a pic of the climb to clean out the grain tower.

yeah, it snowed…

Lordy… I’m so tired of shoveling day after day! Dang frozen tundra climate. But then, this is Michigan.

Thanks to Tyler and his snowplow (man, I owe you!) I only had the sidewalk to shovel, but I cleared it off and my back is no worse for the wear.

I know this is the third day in a row with snow postings – such is life here. At least this isn’t DC.

One more

Another from walking around in the fresh snow. I’m not a fan of the cold, and I’m certainly ready for golf season to begin, but at least the snow is beautiful.

snowing here, again

Took a little walk over my lunch break. One of the nice things about being at MSU is the dedication on campus to preserving large green areas. As chilly as the day is, tromping through fresh snow is always fun.
