Good Morning Gambia!

While we were doing some work in The Gambia, the local news came in to interview us and see what was going on.

Baobab

The fruit juice from this African Baobab is one of my favorite treats about visiting West Africa. I have to admit, I was hunting a few desktop pictures for myself.

From the road

Trying to post one from The Gambia. The internet connection here isn’t always the best.

Having tea here is one of the real pleasures of working in this part of the world. Ataya, as it’s known, is a wonderful tea served in three courses, and here it’s an essential part of the day. As is often the custom, young girls make the tea and bring it out for the family.

8mm

Days like this, I love my job. Spent the weekend with some really amazing people – they’ve lived around the world, working for human rights and fighting for freedom. And they recorded so much of their lives. Hence the 8mm projector, from the 50s:
