Gathering Storm

Here in Michigan a “storm” of 1-3 inches of snow is hardly noteworthy, except when it’s the first of the season.

We watch these storms roll in over the lake from Chicago. They get hammered in Chicago and we know it’ll be worse here for gathering moisture across the relative warmth of the great lakes. This afternoon, as I was leaving work, the clouds were approaching. The building across from us is being re-coppered, from the gutters to the tips of the roof. I caught this shot as the last of the day’s sun shot across the copper, while clouds approached from the West.

And yes, the snow is falling – heavily – as I post.
