Back in May of last year, I was in Johannesburg to conduct a video-archiving workshop at ANC. One of the ANC elders took time out of his busy schedule to show me the Constitutional Court. It’s an amazing physical space, built on top of an apartheid-era prison. Looking into past pictures, I had a great day of shooting photos there as well. Thanks so much Toine!

It’s not the southern-most tip of the continent, but the Cape of Good Hope is known for wild weather. From the lighthouse, you can see where the Indian meets the Atlantic. One is colder than the other, and there’s sometimes a line on the surface where they mingle.

By request – instead of emailing I’ll put it here.
Had to laugh looking back on these shots from May of this year – I nearly got in trouble for taking this picture.
These are the doors – almost 2 stories high – into the Constitutional Court in South Africa. The Court – equivalent to the Supreme Court in the US – is built on the site of an old apartheid-era court and prison. The bricks used in the main courtroom are from that prison. I wasn’t allowed a camera inside, but these doors are hand carved and represent the 27 rights guaranteed in the bill of rights. They’re written in the eleven official languages of the country.
