The plum trees should be in goin’ crazy here about now. The market on the 25th should be beautiful.

A long, cold day and the hot tea (yes, you can buy hot tea from these machines!) tasted fantastic. I cracked open the can, had a swaller of tea, and realized the sunset was reflecting right in front of me.

Kente cloth from Kumasi, Ghana spread across the top of my bookshelf. Funny how the sun can catch your eye.
Had I the Heavens’ embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet…

Flattery will get you everywhere. After like a gazillion (ok, maybe 4) emails, I give in. Here is the picture I’m using at the top of the pages on my blog. I’ve uploaded a large size file, so those who asked for a desktop pic size have it. Thanks for the beautiful words about this shot MM, JK, and KC.

Long day.
Lots of snow, lots of driving, lots of work in between. At the end of this day, after supper and some reading in a newly loaned book, I felt like dipping into the scotch for a single. One at the end of the day and then to bed soon. Somebody took 10 years to care for this, to nurture the barrels, and to let me enjoy.
