Back in May of last year, I was in Johannesburg to conduct a video-archiving workshop at ANC. One of the ANC elders took time out of his busy schedule to show me the Constitutional Court. It’s an amazing physical space, built on top of an apartheid-era prison. Looking into past pictures, I had a great day of shooting photos there as well. Thanks so much Toine!
landmarks
I’m not claiming this is a Spring thaw, but after negative temperatures for much of the week it was nice to hit 50 degrees today and watch the snow melt off of the house.

I’m not dead yet! Just a few long, very busy weeks. More photos coming soon – promise. For now, one from the past.
walking amongst
When it’s warm here (yes, there are a few days in July…) I try to get outside and play as often as possible. The winter makes that a little more difficult, but a walk in the woods every now and then is good for me.
blanketed
It’s too cold to go shooting today, and I’m tired from traveling, and I’m whining…. So it’s a shot from the archives. Really – if the temperatures get back to a “human survivability” standard, I will go shooting again.
Temple lights
I’ll get all of my pics from DC online soon – such an event, and such a great trip. Just a few more today.
Sunset
Thanks to Jim and Kelli for the loaner camera – a great Nikon S610 Coolpix (I’ll admit it: I didn’t want to lug around my DSLR at a dance). Turn the Nikon on and it’s immediately ready to shoot, and it captures great detail. Check out the stars against the rocket fuselage in the background of this picture.

Can’t stop doing the happy dance here in DC. We have a native English speaker as President again!
Yes we did… while freezing!
In DC with 2M or so of my closest friends – thank goodness for public transportation.
It’s a tad crowded here in DC:
