Oh just daggum… The end of another day and I didn’t get out to shoot. I’m trying to read through a book very quickly right now and that’s consuming my time, so it’s one from the archives. Again.

Maybe it’s the time living in Charleston, SC, or maybe it’s just an affinity for work that has to be done by hand – I love wrought iron. When I spotted this staircase I was glad I had my camera.

Trying to take a picture of falling snow is not unlike trying to catch a single snowflake. Posting the best of several from my attempt.

I forgot the daggum camera today – ugh. And frankly it’s too cold outside right now, so one from the archives tonight.
The plum blossoms must be just about popping out at Tenjin-san, and they’re so stunning! This photo is from the same town, walking back from dinner one night. The sake bottles were set out by the street to tempt passers-by in for a cup. This night, I declined. But I got the shot.

Oh, for warmer weather and less snow! But this is Michigan, and it’s February…. The shot I got of the snow melting off the table the other day? Yeah. Not so much now. Same table, different weather.

By the way – missed my DOF by about that much… and I know it.
The sun! The sun finally came out this afternoon, so I had to go have a walk.
And the JPG compression wasn’t kind to this one – it’s not quite so blue in the original.

Nothing fancy today – just a shot across the deck. We got about 8 inches of snow last night (!) and about ten minutes of sunshine today as one storm cleared out and the next moved over us. I was lucky enough to get home just as the sun came out and I caught this shot. la neige!

Busy day today, and I didn’t find time to get out and shoot. One from the archives this evening – from my family’s farm, down in SC.
I intentionally underexposed this one to get more of the sunlight on the door-frame. As a kid, I spent many an early morning walking through this door into the shed for work. Many an early morning….

Went to meet some friends today out in Williamston for brunch at Mrs. Ellie’s place. World’s best omelets – bar none. So I took advantage of the sunshine and walked along the river out there. With the camera, of course.
rush
There’s still too much snow on the ground for my taste, but with warmer temps today at least a little is melting off. Shot this of the table out on my deck as the “snow cap” slides and melts off in the sun.
